Change control and test readiness on a $4.9B driverless system

Problem

The $4.9B LAX Automated People Mover — 44 driverless vehicles, 6 stations, a 2.25-mile guideway — took customer requirements and changes while it moved through integration, testing and commissioning. Each change touched engineering, quality, commercial and customer work.

What I did

• •Owned customer requirements and change control across a pipeline of ~30 risks, issues and changes, and turned each accepted change into prioritized, owned work with options and impact.
• •Carried scope through integration, testing, commissioning and operational-readiness handover: test and commissioning open items, failed-test resolution, test-readiness reviews with the operator, and safety-certification evidence.
• •Ran the core-team cadence across engineering, quality, commercial and customer workstreams, and tracked schedule and milestones for Alstom’s scope.

Verified result

Each accepted change became prioritized, owned work with its options and impact stated. Senior leadership used my monthly program report as its main view of the program (~30 reports).
